Mom Violy wanted to eat crispy pata and pinakbet from Seafood Island Restaurant located in Cubao, Quezon City near the old Shopwise. We had arrived early being the first customers waiting for the restaurant to open. Few minutes later customers began entering the restaurant and we have already placed our order. Mom Violy ordered her crispy pata and pinakbet. Carmina ordered garlic butter shrimp since I don't eat crispy pata. Family member ordered calamari and shrimp fried rice. Manang V decided to add squash and string beans to the Crab with Coconut Milk something we love to eat at home.
Crab with Coconut Milk, Squash and String Beans Recipe
Ingredient:
Step 1:
- 3 fat crab (Alimago)
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup thick coconut milk (gata)
- 1 Cup - Squash (peeled and chopped)
- 1 Cup - String Beans (cut 1 inch)
- 1 clove garlic (pounded)
- 2 tbsp minced onion
- 2 fresh hot pepper
- Salt & pepper to taste
- Small sliced ginger
- 1/2 Cup Water
- Patis to taste
Step 1:
- Clean crab
- Dip in boiling water
- Open and remove all the fat lining from the shell
- Mix fat with 4 tsp salt
- Fill shell into the mixture
Step 2:
- Arrange crab in saucepan
- Boil in 1 cup of the coconut milk (gata) and water
- Add squash and string bean
- Add patis to taste
- As soon as crab is cooked
- Add thick coconut milk (gata)
- Simmer for 5 minutes until it boil
Ready to eat!
