Tired of the new rules, Carmina closed her Google Maps account — what pushed her over the edge?

It’s been months since Carmina last posted on her Google Maps. I started doing it just for fun, exploring new places to dine and travel, and sharing those spots with others. Back in 2017, I wasn’t even blogging yet. Over the years, I received numerous email updates about changes, but in September, the removal of followers on Google Maps felt particularly strange. There’s no point in complaining about it. I decided not to close my account, as it wasn’t an option, but I did delete all the photos I had contributed over the years. I have fond memories of seeing which photos were popular and had hoped to share them with you. It was surprising to see how many views my pictures had accumulated. While deleting them, I noticed that many restaurants and bakeries no longer exist, with some marked as unknown on the map. Most of my photos were from the pandemic period, a time when I could fully express myself and write about the food I enjoyed. Let's take a trip down memory lane with Carmina th...

Beating the Deadline

The only part in life I hate the most when your deadline is approaching.  Your assigned group mates are not done with their share of responsibilities.

In limit time your project is due. You get all stress out thinking it won't be done on time.

Living in the Philippines there is a saying that they are always late. They don't come in time and they do things for the last minute.

This is what I hate so much when you have to deal with people who lack responsibility and your grade is also on that boundary.

Today, my son needed a project to be printed out for a project for school. It was a children's book that two of his classmates had designed.

Luckily I was able to find a place that closes at 6:00 PM. Most printing press companies close on a weekday at 5:00 PM. It is hard when you come home from school late in the afternoon. Still have unfinished projects to do and have to turn it in the next day.

There was a place that was able to save my son's project and other's group mates grade on the line.

The name of the place is called, Alfox Printing Services.

I can highly recommend them. We came there 45 minutes until their closing hour. They we're able to accompany us and have my son's project done due to short notice.

My son placed all the projects in a usb flash drive.

They had use it to save his project on their computer.

Later when we had paid PHP 1,500.00 ($30.00) to make into a book. I was told to come back the next morning at 9:00 AM, My son had informed them he needed to turn it in before 10:00 AM.

As we went back home later after one hour had passed. The person from Alfox Printing Services had called me up to inform me they wanted my son to see the layout.

My son went back to their store. He came home with the children book all made and printed.

This is the first time in my life I felt so relieve for my son to be able to turn his project in time due to short notice.
