Since reservations aren’t possible, we arrived an hour early to ensure we could get a table for twelve before everyone else showed up. Later, the server called my dad's name and guided us to our table. The place was bustling with people enjoying meals and celebrating Mother's Day. Learning Basic Tagalog

When you reach the Philippines in the airport people would greet you saying," Mabuhay" to the foreigners as they have enter the Philippines. That means welcome in English.

They will ask you, "Kamusta". They are asking, how are you?

This is what you need to learn once you enter they don't use restroom. In the Philippines they call it C. R which stands for Comfort Room. Other people call it W.C which stands for Wash Room.

Take note some public restrooms don't provide toilet paper and soap. You will need to bring your own when you feel you are in emergency crisis.

There are paid Comfort Rooms that give you a little amount of tissue to use. You will be charge PHP 20.00 ($0.39)

When you are a female the lines are usually long during peak hours when it is time to eat their meals.

If, you are a senior citizen Comfort Rooms are usually free in most places depending on your location. You may have to inquire first before you enter.

There is also separated comfort rooms for non paying for the senior citizens. There is usually a sign for Senior and for Pregnant Woman who can use it. You may want to ask the person cleaning the room or janitor on duty. They are usually around near the door or inside the comfort rooms.

There are two ways to line up to use the comfort room. Some people line one single line or other places they line up next to a door behind the person.

You will always encounter someone trying to cut in line. You just need to be nice and inform those who do it.

For the men they have toilet bowls that are open and you can just use it or they have individual stalls that have doors and no one can see you.

It all depends on what you prefer.

Smoking - No one is allowed to smoke in the street. There is a fine to pay. There are designation places where you can smoke. It is best to ask the security guard on duty just to be safe.

To the respect to the Filipino always have po after your sentence. They also use sir and mam.

The common things you will hear from a Filipino is when you are making a conversation with them in English and they are having a difficult time is nose bleed. It is just a term they say. I hear that often.

I speak slang in Tagalog and people tend to pick up and say, I sound like a foreigner. I am use to it. The benefit of understanding Tagalog is that if they say something from behind you will understand what they say to you.
