Mom Violy's Birthday Lunch at Mamou, Gateway 2

Carmina asked Mom Violy what kind of food she would like to eat for her upcoming birthday. Mom Violy said she was craving for a restaurant that serves steak and lobster. Carmina gave Mom Violy a list of restaurants for her to decide with a link of the websites for her to see which one look something she would like to try. One week before Mom Violy's birthday she made her final choice where she would like to try  Mamou . Carmina had picked up Mom Violy at her home before heading to Gateway 2 located in Cubao, Quezon City. Mamou is located ground floor inside Gateway 2. Upon entering the person asked if we had any reservations however, they do except walk as well was seated at the table of our choice.  The person had handed us the menu. Beverages Menu Bread and butter were served after we had placed our order. Our appetizer was the Mamou's Bacon Steak. Mom Violy decided to order her lobster tail with rice. Carmina had ordered Beer Battered Fish and Malt Vinegar with choice of pot

Google Map

In doubt I had no way knowing that someone would be interested in the pictures you take when you upload for Google Map. I did it just for fun to add the pictures where I went too. I never took it too seriously. I also answered questions from stranger who was concern of the places I have been too. To me I felt I was just helping someone from their curiosity. Last night I had received an email notifying that I have over 60,000 plus views. I am still in shock to hear the news. I went ahead to check which picture had a high rating. I realized to myself just one picture can make so many people become so interested in where you ate that day. Or the places you had visited just in one picture you had ended up sharing. My mind was blown away that I couldn't sleep well. I kept thinking oh my god. I couldn't believe my eyes. My son said, mom why not sell your picture since you are so good with photography. Maybe you should look into that kind of work. My son was being w

People Who Interfere

People like to interfere how well you balance and spend your own money you earn. There will people who will judge you how well you spend your salary based on your status. When I was young we never had that among our friends. We didn't judge people how well off they are or how much income they earn. I did have friend when I was single that they always compared me as me having every thing. I really work myself off to buy the things I wanted. I didn't brag what most people do when you are young or old. In any age people tend to brag off what they may have or what they want to buy. I buy what I feel I need. I am more practical. I buy things that are necessary. I limit how many garments I own. As you encounter living with a big family that you are not use too. You will encounter people who will envy for the things you have. People who think low of you when you have no money to shoulder your expenses. People will tell you not to always order food outside and have it deli

Insects Living In Your Home

The only thing I really don't like living in the Philippines when there are cockroaches that comes flying around after it has rained outside. It enters your home, the worst time it comes when you are having a meal downstairs with your family. I remember one time my sister in-law was screaming from nowhere. I was wondering what it is the noise. I saw the cockroaches flying around. I couldn't stop laughing at her. I am not afraid of cockroaches. I remember one time when I was single I was visiting some one's home during our summer vacation. My sister and I wanted to get a bite to eat for midnight. We just arrived from the Philippines and being jet lag we got hungry in a different time zone. My sister and I walked to the kitchen that we went to visit. When we had entered the kitchen and turned all the lights. We saw the whole kitchen floor was filled of cockroaches. My sister and I turned off the lights and we lost our appetite. We don't only have cockroaches the

Terms of Language or SMS

Sometimes when we are older and our children say, things at our face or when they send a text message to us. We have a hard time relating to what they have message us. There are so many short cuts that happens to us and we seldom understand what the meaning are when someone talks to us. My niece asked, my mom one time what is her relationship with her guy friend. She said, they are in a platonic relationship. My niece asked, her Nana are you friend's with benefit with your guy friend. My mom said, yes he buy me stuff what I need. I asked, my mom if she knew the meaning before she had answered that question. She said, isn't that the meaning. I said, no. That is not the meaning when someone ask you if you are in a relationship with friend's with benefit. I had explain to my mom friend's with benefit is when you are with the opposite sex whom someone you are having sex without a romantic relationship or commitment. When you are not involved with someone serious and

Language Barrier

Did you ever encounter meeting someone and they speak only one language? In many parts of the world when you have traveled you will meet someone that doesn't speak English. They only speak Chinese or another language that you can't seem to relate. Even if they don't understand them you try hard enough to communicate with them as much as possible with simple English for them to understand you. Or you end up using sign language. I have the same problem. I live with employees who grew up different parts of the provinces in the Philippines. Some times they can't cope up talking with me. They don't really understand English or Tagalog. They say words that I can't seem to comprehend them. I always ask what is that meaning when they say a certain word that I have never heard of. In every day life when you live in a culture with different culture or belief. You learn to adapt yourself from them. You learn words from their languages that they grew up. Some words s

Ms. Bean

In the American show we have the show Mr. Bean have you ever heard of having a mother who can be Ms. Bean. For all her bloopers in her life I can share with you so many incidences that your stomach will turn and you will have a lot of laughter. A long time ago my mom and I had just arrived from San Francisco and there was a revolving door going out. As she was pushing one of the carts and she had placed her one luggage and one hard carry in it. One of her luggage rolled over and went to the revolving door. My mom left her cart inside the airport as she is chasing over her other luggage. But, she couldn't reach it because it was in the opposite side of the revolving door. During that time my mom had no common sense. My mom is freaking out while people are staring at her being so loud. She is screaming that she cannot get her other luggage that fell down. I had entered the revolving door and went outside and grabbed her luggage.  I couldn't stop laughing at m

Slang Words Used Often in the Philippines

Often my mom always says; open the television when you really cannot open it. You can only turn it on. When I was young and until I am older I always correct my mom with her grammar. Her response is always whatever. She will not admit her grammar is right. She will always say, the wrong way. One time my mom and I we're traveling and she told me to take a " movie camera " what she meant was take a video. From the moment on I just reminisce all the things she tells me. For some reason I would always correct her. My mom told my son when he was using the computer to move the " moose " which she meant the mouse. Some time my mom wants to swear she will ask me which finger does she use. She ended up using her index finger instead when she is driving. The person she is trying to swear at start laughing as he/she passes by. My mom loves eating my lazy sushi, but the way she pronounce the word is like she is asking for a key in Tagalog which is " su

Based from Realistic and Drama Series

So often when we are watching Korean drama we tend to pick up words from the television series.  One time my Aunt went to visit us and she had informed me her husband who works in a different country went to visit her during the holiday season. She was all caught up with her Korean show that she didn't pay any attention to her husband. Her husband was telling her some of his problems at work. Her response was "FIGHTING". In terms from the Korean they use the word fighting in terms to keep going even if you can't handle the pressure. It is like giving yourself a push of support that you can do better to solve your problem. Her husband responded to his wife what are you telling me to fight with my employee. (lol) There are a lot of people who watch too many Korean drama never really pay attention to their surroundings. They get all absorbed in their shows that what ever they are watching they no longer pay attention to their environment. Some times it is not go
