Mom Violy's Birthday Lunch at Mamou, Gateway 2

Carmina asked Mom Violy what kind of food she would like to eat for her upcoming birthday. Mom Violy said she was craving for a restaurant that serves steak and lobster. Carmina gave Mom Violy a list of restaurants for her to decide with a link of the websites for her to see which one look something she would like to try. One week before Mom Violy's birthday she made her final choice where she would like to try  Mamou . Carmina had picked up Mom Violy at her home before heading to Gateway 2 located in Cubao, Quezon City. Mamou is located ground floor inside Gateway 2. Upon entering the person asked if we had any reservations however, they do except walk as well was seated at the table of our choice.  The person had handed us the menu. Beverages Menu Bread and butter were served after we had placed our order. Our appetizer was the Mamou's Bacon Steak. Mom Violy decided to order her lobster tail with rice. Carmina had ordered Beer Battered Fish and Malt Vinegar with choice of pot

Just recently I went to a new place for the beginning of our 2020 to a beach resort that I had booked in the booking app.

The time I had booked my family wanted to head out for the beach with two weeks’ notice. It was’t enough time to look for the best place as possible most places I wanted was already fully booked.

I found a place called, Sand Bar the review in Facebook was noted 4 dollar symbol and the rate or their place was good.

Our drive from Manila was two hours.

We had reached our destination early for the check in time of 2:00 PM. They gave us what rooms those were already available.

We’re given room #9 and #10. Our room #9 had a broken toilet it didn’t flush. The stairs we’re very narrow and the entrance is not good for someone who is tall. You can bump your head on the ceiling. This was the first time I had encountered a place like this.

I had complained to the reception office that our toilet wouldn’t flush. They had transferred us to another room #1 which closer to the beach.

I was so curious why it was rated four dollar symbol. Sand Bar is not what you had called, a four dollar rate in my eyes.

The place is much unorganized. The food is over cooked and the service is very slow. They don’t have that many employees.

As we are waiting for our rice to arrive my mom and Yann are so hungry they start off eating their food with no plate or utensils.

You may check my video in this link:

As I was walking outside the beach I had discovered far better places that really looked like something more worth your money.

The MB Cove is the same price range in what I had paid in Sand Bar.

We had walked toward the end and took some pictures. We saw people fishing and catching fishes.

Warning do not swim in the beach when really drunk at night!

I highly recommend this drink taste really yummy. We bought it at Walter Mart Supermarket.

Matches well with spicy fish skin

The highlight of my trip that was far more worthwhile was the island hopping that I did the next morning.

The charge for a boat that can fit capacity of twelve people is PHP 1,500.00 ($30.00). Suggested time to leave is between 5:00 AM to 7:00 AM. We left at 7:00 AM and it was pretty cold.

The boat man said, he will leave us in the island and come back. I refused to be left behind thinking I would be left alone stranded in an island with no signal on your phone. I said, no way will I allow it.

I had told the boat man no way. I will no longer go.

He gave in and said; okay I will wait for you there.

The boat ride to the cave is twenty minutes. We had stayed there for a short time to take pictures. We’re told usually that area has high tide not recommended for swimming.

The next destination was another twenty-five minutes it is called, Secret Lagoon or secret cave that was bought by Shoe Mart (SM). The place is really nice you can swim or there is a section where it is ankle height.

The boat man informed us usually in the afternoon there will be a lot of people coming. We had the place to ourselves.

There are no restrooms provided it is best to just do it on the water.
I am not a swimmer and I like taking pictures of the scenery and video. My close friend Yann loves swimming so she enjoyed the place.

We found out there is a section where you can swim that reaches on your chest not that deep.

The boat man showed us other rocks and I just took pictures and video of the surrounding. There are really other nice places to see as you are riding the boat.

If, you’re a nature girl and love to swim this place is really for you.

The highlight of my trip if you’re a social media this place is not for you they have no signal for Globe user. They only have signal for Smart carrier.

I can live with no Internet for just two days. I know some people who cannot live without it.

I was lucky Yann had smart so I was able to get Internet by sharing her hot spot while we stayed in our room to rest.

It is best to buy your drinks and food before you head to your resort. Otherwise the grocery store is thirty minutes drive from the resort.

There is no corkage fee bringing your food from the outside. They also provide barbeque grill to cook your own food. Or you can ask someone working there to cook the food for you.

I suggest giving tips to those who you ask to cook for you and the boat men.

Tips:

What to bring before you plan your trip:

Tent
Towel
Food and drinking water
Paper plates
Plastic utensil
Waterproof backpack
Swim clothes
Water shoes
Sunscreen
Sunglasses
Waterproof camera
Power bank with phone cord
Trash bag (throw your trash)
