Tired of the new rules, Carmina closed her Google Maps account — what pushed her over the edge?

It’s been months since Carmina last posted on her Google Maps. I started doing it just for fun, exploring new places to dine and travel, and sharing those spots with others. Back in 2017, I wasn’t even blogging yet. Over the years, I received numerous email updates about changes, but in September, the removal of followers on Google Maps felt particularly strange. There’s no point in complaining about it. I decided not to close my account, as it wasn’t an option, but I did delete all the photos I had contributed over the years. I have fond memories of seeing which photos were popular and had hoped to share them with you. It was surprising to see how many views my pictures had accumulated. While deleting them, I noticed that many restaurants and bakeries no longer exist, with some marked as unknown on the map. Most of my photos were from the pandemic period, a time when I could fully express myself and write about the food I enjoyed. Let's take a trip down memory lane with Carmina th...

Preparing your family before you leave off for your upcoming trip:

Not like living in the Philippines you can delegate the employees in your home to let them know what they are responsible when you leave your family behind during your travel.

  • I always make sure my family has food to eat and end up filling the house with food and shop with them to see what food they would like to eat other than buying food from the outside this way I know my family are eating well enough while I am away.
  • Their driver has a schedule what time he needs to drop off and pick up from their school this way everything becomes well organized. If, the schedule has been changed the students will be the one to inform them ahead of time.
  • Give your students allowance in case they need money for their school projects.
  • Make sure they have school uniform to wear during the week.
  • We have a freelance that comes to the house who does our laundry and iron our clothes during the two times in a week.
It is always best to have the communication with one another so everyone will be well informed.

Work:
  • Delegate someone to take over while you are not around to do your work and train them if they are not aware how to do it before you leave gives them a chance not to call you up when you're away on vacation.
Even if you’re so excited from your upcoming trip you still have responsibilities your family will be well taken care of when you are not there.

Living in the States it is the same way we make sure our family has someone to prepare their breakfast, drop them off the children from school where they have carpool from friends where your children are going to school. I have seen this happen with my sister when she is away from her work and she is required to leave her family behind.

As parents we still make sure our family is settled and no need to worry when we are not there every day.

I have friends who bring their dog to the shelter or have friends baby sit while they are in town this way they get to enjoy themselves with another family member.

Dogs are just like human they look for their family when they are gone. I have experience that when my sister asked, me to baby sit their dog Coco. He wasn't himself he stayed at the door thinking his owner would come home one day. Just like anyone else they too have no appetite to eat because they feel homesick without their owner at their side.
