Family was informed by their friends to try Blackbird at the Nielson Tower and asked Mom Violy if she has ever been there before. Mom Violy had no clue what it was asked Carmina to look it up and see what kind of food they serve. Carmina gave the phone number to Mom Violy make a reservation for a family lunch. On the day of the reservation, we arrived early and were allowed to enter before the official opening time of eleven o’clock in the morning. We decided to stay in the lobby, where we were asked if we wanted anything to drink. Carmina took videos inside and learned about the history by talking to the staff. One hour later, people started coming into the restaurant and took their seats at the reservation table, browsing the menu to decide what to order. I had received a text message from an unknown number letting
me know someone I knew had already passed away.
I thought it my mind it can be someone who can be sending me
fake news or a scam to only find out to call the phone number.
I found out our old employer who had worked for us so many
years has passed away her name is Manang Ofel the person was just having like a
mother figure. Manang Ofel was always a jolly person and always smiled. Manang
Ofel was very nice to me and treated me like one of her daughter. She always
had something to give me as she came to visit us.
I was wondering why for so many months she had stopped
sending me messages and every time she had a day off over the weekend she would
text me once a week.
The last time I saw Manang Ofel when she had attended a
funeral last March 2019 one of our relative that had passed away. She had cry
so hard when she was there and made a scene.
Her daughter in-law saw my name in her contact list and
recognize the name as she kept hearing it from Manang Ofel. She wanted to call
me up so many times, but never had the courage when you are a stranger and you
don’t know how to begin to contact to those who you think your mom is close to
you don’t know where to begin as you are still grieving with pain in your
hearts.
Manang Ofel had pain in her liver and it got bigger than her
eyes became yellow so there was no more cure. She wanted to be buried and
remain her province with her family.
Manang Ofel worked so hard to build a house for her family,
but couldn’t appreciate the house she built by neglecting her health.
Manang Ofel is not the only one I have known has encounter
this type of situation sometimes even if you work hard, but take your health
for granted it becomes useless to earn an income and not enjoying the house you
have built.
It is better you don’t take your health for granted.
For all the good times realize there are a lot of people who
look so healthy but never tells anyone that they are feeling pain inside.
This is why based on my story if you are not feeling well
please inform your family and never wait till it is too late. It is harder to
except when you leave your family without them knowing you we’re feeling some
kind of pain, but never did anything about your illness.
