Mom Violy's Birthday Lunch at Mamou, Gateway 2

Carmina asked Mom Violy what kind of food she would like to eat for her upcoming birthday. Mom Violy said she was craving for a restaurant that serves steak and lobster. Carmina gave Mom Violy a list of restaurants for her to decide with a link of the websites for her to see which one look something she would like to try. One week before Mom Violy's birthday she made her final choice where she would like to try  Mamou . Carmina had picked up Mom Violy at her home before heading to Gateway 2 located in Cubao, Quezon City. Mamou is located ground floor inside Gateway 2. Upon entering the person asked if we had any reservations however, they do except walk as well was seated at the table of our choice.  The person had handed us the menu. Beverages Menu Bread and butter were served after we had placed our order. Our appetizer was the Mamou's Bacon Steak. Mom Violy decided to order her lobster tail with rice. Carmina had ordered Beer Battered Fish and Malt Vinegar with choice of pot

Shrimp Tempura Recipe


My family loves to eat shrimp tempura but when you have shrimp in your home why not make it cooked in your own kitchen although it can be time consuming but when you feel appreciated by who you cook for you gain some inspiration to cook for them.

Shrimp Tempura Recipe:

Ingredient:

  • I kilo fresh medium size shrimp
  • 1 package Tempura breadcrumbs
  • 2 pieces Large Egg
  • Salt (depend on your taste)
  • Black Pepper (depend on your taste)
  • Cooking oil
  • Fry pot or deep fryer
  • Strainer

Step 1:

1.    Remove the head with a knife, peel off the skin from the shrimp and tail

2.    Slice the shrimp in the middle where the body of the shrimp curve and remove the excess dark black intestinal.

Step 2:

  •  In a big bowl you will crack the egg whip it, add the salt, black pepper and mix well.
  • Add the shrimp and let it stay inside until the egg has stuck to the shrimp.

 Step 3:

  •  In a flat tray or plate pour enough tempura breadcrumbs spread evenly.

 Step 4:

  •  One by one you will add the shrimp soak in egg batter and flip back and forth   on the tempura breadcrumbs.

 Step 5:

  •  You will heat up your frying pot or deep fryer with cooking oil.
  • Add each shrimp make sure there is space in between so it doesn't stick together.
  • Once it turns pinkish it is already cooked.
  • Set aside on a strainer.
  • Ready to serve.
