Mom Violy wanted to eat crispy pata and pinakbet from Seafood Island Restaurant located in Cubao, Quezon City near the old Shopwise. We had arrived early being the first customers waiting for the restaurant to open. Few minutes later customers began entering the restaurant and we have already placed our order. Mom Violy ordered her crispy pata and pinakbet. Carmina ordered garlic butter shrimp since I don't eat crispy pata. Family member ordered calamari and shrimp fried rice. Normally nilagang is cooked with beef but this time it is cooked with chicken with the same ingredients just the meat is different.
Chicken Nilagang Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1/2 Kilo Chicken
- 1 - Onion (quartered)
- 2 - Pieces Garlic (chopped)
- 2 - Potato (quartered)
- 1 - Tsp Peppercorns
- 4 - Tbs Patis (fish sauce)
- 1 - Small cabbage (quartered)
- 4 - Cup water or chicken stock
- 1 – Chicken cube
- Small amount cooking oil
- Medium Pot
Cooking Instructions:
Step 1:
- In a medium pot add small amount cooking oil in medium heat
- Add onion, garlic and fish sauce to sauté
- Add chicken and peppercorn
- Add four 4 water or chicken stock
- Add potato and cabbage
- Let it cook for one hour in low heat.
