Carmina asked Mom Violy what kind of food she would like to eat for her upcoming birthday. Mom Violy said she was craving for a restaurant that serves steak and lobster. Carmina gave Mom Violy a list of restaurants for her to decide with a link of the websites for her to see which one look something she would like to try. One week before Mom Violy's birthday she made her final choice where she would like to try Mamou . Carmina had picked up Mom Violy at her home before heading to Gateway 2 located in Cubao, Quezon City. Mamou is located ground floor inside Gateway 2. Upon entering the person asked if we had any reservations however, they do except walk as well was seated at the table of our choice. The person had handed us the menu. Beverages Menu Bread and butter were served after we had placed our order. Our appetizer was the Mamou's Bacon Steak. Mom Violy decided to order her lobster tail with rice. Carmina had ordered Beer Battered Fish and Malt Vinegar with choice of pot
Crispy Pata is deep fried knuckles that is from a pig, and it is dip with vinegar combined with soy sauce or lechon sauce.
This is a popular dish in a Filipino restaurant and often some people love eating this at home. This is a recipe of Manang V that she cooks, and I will give you a secret way to make it crispy and taste good that your household will love you're cooking.
Crispy Pata Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 - Pork leg (clean, scrape the hair on the pork and trim nails)
- 2 - Cups 7-up or Sprite soda
- 1 - Cup Vinegar
- 5 - Cloves of garlic (minced)
- 1 - Tbsp Peppercorn
- 3 - Bay leaves
- Salt to taste
- 5 - Cups of water
Cooking Instructions
Step 1:
- In pot boil water add 7 -up, peppercorn, vinegar, bay leaves, garlic, salt and pork leg cook for one hour until pork is tender.
- Stain the pork leg
Step 2:
- In a new pot add cooking oil let it boil than add the pork leg until fully cooked on both sides you can serve it how it is whole or cut it up just like the picture I have
Dipping Sauce
Ingredients:
- 1/2 Cup - Vinegar
- 1 1/2 Tbsp - soy sauce
- 1/2 - Onion (chopped)
- 1 - Red chili pepper (chopped)
Mixing:
- In a bowl combine all ingredients and mix well it is ready to be served.
