Mom Violy Craving for Filipino Dishes from Seafood Island Restaurant

  Mom Violy wanted to eat crispy pata and pinakbet from Seafood Island Restaurant located in Cubao, Quezon City near the old Shopwise. We had arrived early being the first customers waiting for the restaurant to open. Few minutes later customers began entering the restaurant and we have already placed our order. Mom Violy ordered her crispy pata and pinakbet. Carmina ordered garlic butter shrimp since I don't eat crispy pata. Family member ordered calamari and shrimp fried rice. Easy Lechon Kawali Recipe



For the pork lover here is a dish for you to cook at your home this is lechon kawali that is often cooked in our home by Manang V to top it off on the side with homemade lechon sauce of my mom in which I will include with this recipe.

Lechon Kawali Recipe
Ingredients:
  • 1 Kilo - Liempo
  • 1 Tsp - Salt
  • 1/2 Tsp - Magic Sarap 
  • 3 Cups = Water
  • Cooking oil
Boiling Instructions:
  • In a pot boil the three cups water add the magic sarap and salt until hot add liempo to soften for 15 minutes.
  • Place the liempo on a strainer set aside
Frying Instructions:
  • In a frying pan or deep fryer add cooking oil until hot fry both sides of the liempo when cooked slice the liempo into cubes like shown in the picture.
Lechon Sauce
Ingredients:
  • 1 Can - Liverwurst
  • 1 Tbsp - Salt
  • 1/2 Cup - White Vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp - Whole Black Pepper
  • 1/2 Cup - Breadcrumbs
  • 1 Cloves - Garlic (minced)
  • 1/2 Cup - Brown Sugar
  • 2 Tbsp - White Sugar
Cooking Instructions
Step 1:
  1. In a pot add small amount of cooking oil once hot add garlic sauté add liverwurst, vinegar, breadcrumbs, sugar and salt mix together until texture is smooth it is ready to serve cooked in low heat.
