When the longing for authentic Pinoy dishes strikes in the U.S., Isla Grand stands ready to transport your taste buds back to the Philippines.

Carmina is traveling to the United States to spend time with her family. My dad planned a family gathering for Mother's Day at their favorite Pinoy restaurant . Since reservations aren’t possible, we arrived an hour early to ensure we could get a table for twelve before everyone else showed up. As my dad approached Isla Grand , the branch we visited in Pleasant Hills, California , the host at the door said they could prepare a table for twelve at five o'clock. Later, the server called my dad's name and guided us to our table. The place was bustling with people enjoying meals and celebrating Mother's Day. On our first visit to Isla Grand, I was captivated by the décor, noticing many native items that gave the place a fancy yet authentic Filipino feel. No Sun Exposure You Become the Ghost in Your Home

Slowly as you walked down from the staircase to the living room and to the dining area you begin to ask Manang V about something she gets spooked by your voices thinking they have seen a 👻ghost.

Actually it is just a person standing at the dining room in the dark and all a sudden they talk unexpected and you are too busy preparing breakfast with no one around you.

What happens to you? You end up dropping what you’re holding not realizing someone else was around you without a sound.

Another person passes by the hallway in the dining room and Manang V is about to have breakfast with her officemate and she suddenly hears a voice that say’s excuse me Manang V you are about to take a bite of your bread. All a sudden you are shock with the voice with a surprise you end up dropping your bread on the plate saying to the person why did you scare me.

You just begin to laugh quietly thinking am I a 👻ghost no one seem to see because you stay at home too long with no sun exposure.

The funny thing is the unexpected when you don’t know someone passes by so quietly and you are so into somewhere your mind is not in the same place and when you become distracted by someone you become shocked and surprised to hear someone else’s voice beside the person next to you.

Manang V keeps telling me I surprise her so many time and you wonder what other people think of you as well.

Do you become the 👻ghost in the house or what I call myself the white lady?
