Mom Violy Craving for Filipino Dishes from Seafood Island Restaurant

  Mom Violy wanted to eat crispy pata and pinakbet from Seafood Island Restaurant located in Cubao, Quezon City near the old Shopwise. We had arrived early being the first customers waiting for the restaurant to open. Few minutes later customers began entering the restaurant and we have already placed our order. Mom Violy ordered her crispy pata and pinakbet. Carmina ordered garlic butter shrimp since I don't eat crispy pata. Family member ordered calamari and shrimp fried rice. Filipino Corn Soup Recipe


This is my favorite all time Filipino Corn Soup that I prefer to eat often if I could my mom use to make this for me when I was young. You can also use yellow corn in case native white corn is not available in your area.

Filipino Corn Soup Recipe
Ingredients:
  • 2 Pieces - Native White Corn (use knife to remove kernels)
  • 1/2 Cup - Ground Pork
  • 1/2 Cup - Small Shrimp (peel, remove head and shell)
  • 1 Cup - Dahon Sili or Spinach
  • 1 - Onion (chopped)
  • 2 - Cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 1 - Knorr Chicken Cube
  • 4 Cup - Water
  • Patis to taste
Cooking Instructions:
  1. In a pot add small amount of cooking oil when hot add garlic, onion to saute add ground pork, shrimp, corn, water once water is boiling add chicken cube and dahon sili season with patis and it is ready to serve in a serving bowl.
