When the longing for authentic Pinoy dishes strikes in the U.S., Isla Grand stands ready to transport your taste buds back to the Philippines.

Carmina is traveling to the United States to spend time with her family. My dad planned a family gathering for Mother's Day at their favorite Pinoy restaurant . Since reservations aren’t possible, we arrived an hour early to ensure we could get a table for twelve before everyone else showed up. As my dad approached Isla Grand , the branch we visited in Pleasant Hills, California , the host at the door said they could prepare a table for twelve at five o'clock. Later, the server called my dad's name and guided us to our table. The place was bustling with people enjoying meals and celebrating Mother's Day. On our first visit to Isla Grand, I was captivated by the décor, noticing many native items that gave the place a fancy yet authentic Filipino feel. They usually have a live band, but unfortunately, there was no entertainment the night we went. My family had spoken highly of Isla Grand and encouraged us to try the Filipino dishes we’ve been missing from back home. Lech...

Everyone Has Their Own Stories

You have more time to think of your future as you stay home most of the time you realize what greater advantages you have than what you can ever imagine the reason why I say this I have friends who have told me that I am lucky even if I live in the Philippines and unable to go out.

I realize I have something greater than them I have an income, sheltered home, food to eat and no problems in life to live fully by joking around with the people who work along with me.

I don't want to seem like I am bragging this is what I always hear from my friends if you ask me how I am doing they already know my life is all blog stuff.

Sometimes we don't realized friends who see you have been analyzing who you are based on your conversation with them and they tell you're so lucky where you are and admire you for what you have than you hear how their situation is and try to give them advices they tend to question where are those advices and tips coming from as you wonder why they tell you their life stories in the first place not realizing what they sound like when they tell you their life.

I admit some people have it all some people have less but whatever your situation is I don't judge people who have more than me or have less than me.

You live the life you want and I will live my life how I chose to do and if you're not happy with your life it is you who can make those changes everyone has a different story.

You can complain what situation you’re in and you can stay put to remain where you are but if you tell me your story and sound like you’re complaining I will give you an ear full of advices but it is up to you if you decide to take my advices you are in control of your life.

You tell me maybe there is something wrong with me may be you need to analyze yourself before you begin to analyze who I am.

You have friends who contradict what you say in every sentence you tell a story as they correct you feeling you are lower than them it doesn't bother me no matter if you say something bad to me it is your way lashing out to someone not in a good mood. I live with a lot of people who have far different personalities I know who they are and what type they are but I just keep it cool and joke around with them why put me down if you’re not in the good mood better stay away from talking to people who are close to you.

Those who are my close friends know who I am and they stick to me like glue and I admire them even if what they have they know who I am and they never feel less of themselves when they are around me.
