When the longing for authentic Pinoy dishes strikes in the U.S., Isla Grand stands ready to transport your taste buds back to the Philippines.

Carmina is traveling to the United States to spend time with her family. My dad planned a family gathering for Mother's Day at their favorite Pinoy restaurant . Since reservations aren’t possible, we arrived an hour early to ensure we could get a table for twelve before everyone else showed up. As my dad approached Isla Grand , the branch we visited in Pleasant Hills, California , the host at the door said they could prepare a table for twelve at five o'clock. Later, the server called my dad's name and guided us to our table. The place was bustling with people enjoying meals and celebrating Mother's Day. How do you eat your sausage?

Today I am eating something made of plant based a sausage that is meat free from San Miguel Food the product called Veega made in the Philippines.

After taking a bite on the plant based sausage you will taste the smoky flavor and spices inside being soft from the texture just like an ordinary sausage you will not know it is healthy by looking at it.

I asked Manang V, Ike and Rodelo to try it and see if they notice anything different from it the color looks the same you can mistake it being a chicken hotdog.

They said it taste good.

Manang V, Ike and Rodelo are not into plant based that is one reason I asked them to try it too a product I can go back in buying all over again.

I eat my sausage on a tortilla by slicing up the sausage to bite size pieces with scramble egg to top just like having a breakfast burrito.
