When the longing for authentic Pinoy dishes strikes in the U.S., Isla Grand stands ready to transport your taste buds back to the Philippines.

Carmina is traveling to the United States to spend time with her family. My dad planned a family gathering for Mother's Day at their favorite Pinoy restaurant . Since reservations aren’t possible, we arrived an hour early to ensure we could get a table for twelve before everyone else showed up. As my dad approached Isla Grand , the branch we visited in Pleasant Hills, California , the host at the door said they could prepare a table for twelve at five o'clock. Later, the server called my dad's name and guided us to our table. The place was bustling with people enjoying meals and celebrating Mother's Day. On our first visit to Isla Grand, I was captivated by the décor, noticing many native items that gave the place a fancy yet authentic Filipino feel. They usually have a live band, but unfortunately, there was no entertainment the night we went. Tuantuan Chinese Brasserie

After walking for a long time at UP Town Center I started getting thirsty and wanted to try a milk tea and came across this billboard and figure why not try and see how it would taste. Milk tea has been very popular every where and some how in the Philippines it is all spread out. You don't need to enter inside there is a Take Out window on the left side. I found out this place doesn't only catered for milk tea they also have other main dishes to try. I figure that would be another time around. I was able to get a take out menu and bring it home with me. Until next time when I visit UP Town Center in Diliman, Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines.

No matter what or how they treat you in the Philippines it is called, by respect.  You may be older or younger than them yet the treatment is different when you also respect them. Your life revolves around you and sometimes people call me a Princess because I live in the Philippines where people cook for you, drive for you and so on. But, being a princess I still do what everyone does on a daily basis. I am not that spoiled brat people always call me. I live normal just like anyone else. Yes, some treatment is different when people look high upon you for example when I ride my bike with my male employee and I am the only female. They are behind me I feel I am being guarded by security guards. They make sure you don’t fall off your bike and make sure you are secu...
