One week before Mom Violy's birthday she made her final choice where she would like to try  Mamou . Carmina had picked up Mom Violy at her home before heading to Gateway 2 located in Cubao, Quezon City. Mamou is located ground floor inside Gateway 2. Upon entering the person asked if we had any reservations however, they do except walk as well was seated at the table of our choice.  The person had handed us the menu. Splurging

Coming back from traveling and not realizing all the good food you have eaten and the diet you had before went back to you gaining the weight you didn't expect to gain. As you come back home certain clothes no longer fit you because you have gained weight from all the different kind of food you ate and even if you walked for hours at your tour and walking to explore you lost no weight because when you got tired all you did was go back in eating something you called, splurging because you are in a different place and they don't have that kind of food when you return back to your homeland. As people see you coming back in your homeland someone mistake you as being pregnant and that is when you begin to look at yourself and place yourself back to the healthy mode that you are coming back into reality that you are no longer on vacation. As summer is approaching people start going on a diet to fit into their summer clothes or clothes to make the sexy, beautiful or buil

Lashing Out

You have friends who keep things away from you because they feel if they tell you. You will always lash out at them saying things that they don't want to hear. No matter they want to tell you in their heart they can't tell you because you give them negative feedback something they don't want to hear. Even if you mean well and try to protect your friend they tend to rebel and do things against them to make them feel better. I have this kind of friend who always uses to tell me everything going on with her life, but when she met someone I didn't like for her she began to change. I even told her I am praying she find someone better that would treat her on what she deserve the reasons I said, this to her because the guy she fell in love with is the bad boy image our parents always warn us to stay away from. My friend learn the hard way from not listening to me just like any teenager who doesn't listen to their parents as they warn them not to hang

It's Merienda Time!

Living in the cultural of the Philippines there is always room for merienda (snack) that comes between after lunch and before having your dinner. Filipino love to eat and they also love to entertain guest with food it gives them a time to express their hospitality to their guest and bond with them as they eat together. Even if we have no guest in our home we still have merienda in our home and my mother in-law loves to have extra food for their staff as they work hard to her it is a given thing everyone needs to find time to eat. They always eat merienda with a cup of coffee even if we live in a tropical climate coffee is a part of their beverage eaten with their merienda. Today, our merienda was not cooked by our cook this time we decided to buy something that is called, pichi pichi and cassava cake. Pichi Pichi is made of cassava with shredded cheese on the top. Cassava is a starch comes from a root. For your reference on products from Don Benit

Waffle Sandwich Recipe

While my son was on his way going home from school I decided to call him up and check on him why he is taking too long to go home. He said, there was too much traffic. I asked, my son what he wanted to eat for dinner so I can make it for him so by the time he arrives his dinner would be cooked. He said, he wanted a waffle sandwich. I said what kind of sandwich is that with chicken ham, salami and Swiss cheese. I asked, him how many waffles he wanted he said, two. As I was making his unusual sandwich I place it in a tray and place it in the toaster oven. My son came home and I told him his waffle sandwich is almost done. He looked confused. He said, no I asked for 2 waffles on the side with one sandwich made with bread. I said, oh I thought this is what you said. We went downstairs together to check on his waffle sandwich I had ended up making it turn out like this:   Not bad for a misunderstanding the sandwich was a success added with sunny side up egg ju

The Bad Girl Image

When you have known someone for a long time and you end up talking to your friend you notice some thing really bad from her as she became the bad girl who rebels in front of you she start smoking as you know she is not the type of person who use to do it before. She has always told you that she hated people smoking in front of you knowing it is unhealthy for you. I was happy to see my friend, but when I saw a bad image of my friend it made me realize during the time I have lost contact from her made me realize someone can really change when you are not at their site. My image came to my mind when we use to be teenagers and our parents always warn us stuff we shouldn’t do if we get influence from our friends. Always say, NO. This is what I saw from my friend. I said, smoking is bad for your health and it will add wrinkles to your face. I thought you hate having wrinkles. As she kept smoking at my face I was irritated because it wasn’t the friend I knew. I saw a di

Traveling with Seniors Through Immigration Procedure

I was traveling recently my mom and Tita Edna or any elderly person who comes in mind had a difficult time when they had reached Immigration when you had to use those self help machine to scan up your passport than going and lining up for immigration in person to have your passport stamped. My mom had a hard time understanding even if the machine showed how you are suppose to do it by giving instructions on the screen. Sometimes older people don’t pay attention to the given instructions when they are on panic mode. In their mind is I can’t do this or I can’t figure it out. They don’t want to try and follow the instructions given. Each time I had entered to Immigration I had to make sure I was always the last person and make sure my mom and Tita Edna was guided to the proper procedure. There are two types of machine: Biometric   Passport Scanner: How to use: Place your passport face down where your picture is located slide inside let it scan On the sc
