Mom Violy Craving for Filipino Dishes from Seafood Island Restaurant

  Mom Violy wanted to eat crispy pata and pinakbet from Seafood Island Restaurant located in Cubao, Quezon City near the old Shopwise. We had arrived early being the first customers waiting for the restaurant to open. Few minutes later customers began entering the restaurant and we have already placed our order. Mom Violy ordered her crispy pata and pinakbet. Carmina ordered garlic butter shrimp since I don't eat crispy pata. Family member ordered calamari and shrimp fried rice. Bagoong Shrimp Recipe

Let me explain what bagoong is made of fermented fish and Bagoong shrimp is made of shrimp paste with salt. Why is bagoong shrimp color pink? When the bagoong fish and shrimp and mixed into with the salt the color changes into pink. Buro Isda Recipe

What is buro? Buro is known to use angkak which is a rice color purple that has fermented that has red yeast rice that is where buro gets it's color. Buro is fermented with salt and fish for one week before they sell it. Buro is made with isda (fish) for example the one my mom buys in Cabanatuan City is made with tinapa (smoked fish) located in the Public Market in front of the entrance across the street from the bakery.
