Chestnuts come during the month of December in the Philippines often we buy it in Divisoria on a stall in the street where someone is frying in a big pan. In Tagalog we call it castanas they are sold in a brown paper bag newly roasted sold by 1/4 kilo, 1/2 kilo and 1 kilo depending on what size you would like to purchase. During our pandemic months my mom's neighbor is selling it for 1 Kilo for PHP 300.00 ($6.00) the taste is soft, sweet and best hot can be cooked in the toaster oven. To stay fresh leave in your refrigerator when you feel like eating it again. Or you can remove it from the shell and place in a Tupperware with a lid. To crack it open you can use a nut cracker I just use a crab cracker it does the same purpose. You may purchase your chestnuts at this person who we had placed our order. Note: I am not selling chestnuts just my favorite during the holiday season. If you have a Facebook click subscribe Carmina Lifestyle - Home | Facebook a place to look, discover and ...
