Mom Violy had informed us that one of her friends said to try Filipino food at Mesa. The day for our lunch with Mom Violy's best friend who was visiting the Philippines brought to Mesa Restaurant inside Eastwood City. Ninang Lourdes was staying close by Eastwood City Shopping Mall. She hasn't entered inside the shopping mall. Upon entering to the third floor was able to see Mesa Restaurant giving you the menu when seated and the table. Mom Violy had ordered the In Own Ink baby squid, Crispy Pork on the vegetables and Palabok. Ninang Lourdes ordered fresh buko for her drink. Mom Violy's expectation dining inside Mesa wasn't what she had expected on the food. Mom Violy based on her taste buds the food was bland on the palabok wasn't salty enough and the crispy pork pinkabet which she had added fish sauce asking the server. Everyone has different taste buds. Mom Violy had given the food to Sonny who was the one who drove us. Sonny said the Filipino food was good for
I have been craving to eat corn and since I can't find it being in a cob why not eat it the frozen way. Corn is my favorite vegetable it can be cooked up in alternative ways.
My favorite way to eat
corn is just too warm it in the microwave and adds some butter the simple way.
My other favorite is the Filipino Corn Soup the way Manang V cooks it.
My mom had cooked it when I was young Gulliver's Creamed Corn.
Anyone's favorite adding all leftover in your meal fried rice.
Add in your salad the healthy way.
We can be creative with our corn and add it along our food in the way you want to eat it for that day.
I had purchase Southern Valley Whole Kernel Corn from Metro Mart through S&R for PHP 110.00 ($2.20) 1 kg. Not bad for the price not including handling and fee to the delivery person.
Yes you got that right it is product from the USA which is cool for me living in the Philippines. During my visit in California, I would eat corn during Memorial Weekend the place we would have our family gathering to have a barbecue.
