Carmina's Experience in Poppo Live after One Year

Those who don't know Mary Ann was the one who invited me to do Poppo last year 2023 the month of November. Mary Ann and I had drifted apart since we had to deal with new changes in our environment. Carmina began exploring inside the application try to figure out how people earn money. Do you earn money from Poppo? I would like to be honest those who don't mind cash flow being slow paced. Yes, you can earn money from Poppo only if you're active. What does it mean being active? Active is when you do your daily task which is sitting down at a party which each hour is 800 points. Doing your hourly live streaming depending on what is your rate will directly to your points. Those who are male gender the only task given to you is to sit down and enter in a panel. Carmina wanted to do something different for a change and find out about other people lives and what job experience they had during the time they had graduated from college in the Philippines. To see where their life would take place in every real life experience from people surrounded us and sometimes we don't know exactly how our family and friends we're able to achieve those careers in their lifetime.

 1.     As a college student what was it like graduating and finding your first job?

After 5 years of being a college student, it was exciting to finally graduate and look for a job.  However, I was worried it would be very difficult to find a job being a newly graduate engineer without any experience.  Usually, someone needs a sponsor to even be considered for a job.

2.     How did you decide upon getting a job?

I decided to apply for a job when I learned that this company has an ongoing hiring program whereby it hires every year as trainee the top two graduates of top colleges and universities. 

3.     How did you find the job?

I was informed, while in college, that this company has an ongoing hiring program as stated in answer to question 2.

4.     What are the questions the company asks during the interview?

In my recollection, there were no interviews when I applied.

5.     How does the company treat you on your first day?

The first day at work is more of an orientation and completing work related forms.

6.     Does the treatment change after years working for the company?

The first two years are more of training in each department in the Company.  I worked at the Engineering Department after that as a permanent employee.

7.     What are the hours or shifts working?

We worked for 8 hours from 8AM to 12 Noon and 1PM to 5PM, Monday through Friday and 4 hours from 8AM to 12 Noon on Saturdays for quite some time.  The Saturday work was eliminated after several years.

8.     How many employees are working per department? 

Each department varies in the number of employees. Our department has probably more than 100 employees.

9.     How did you get promoted to become an assistant/supervisor/ manager?

I was a Senior Distribution Engineer when I left the Company after about 7 years.  I was promoted based on my excellent performance and being dependable on the job.

10.  What are your responsibilities?

As a Senior Distribution Engineer in the distribution section of the department, I was responsible for the electric distribution needs in a particular area.  One of my responsibilities is to go out in the field and design how to provide electrical service to the customer..

11.  How do people look up to you when you're once in the beginning being a lower position become a high level candidate?

As more job responsibilities are given to me, I progressed from a starting position into a higher class position.  My co-workers respected that because they knew I deserved being promoted to higher positions.

12.  What changes occur in your job?

Once I became a Senior Distribution Engineer, I have other distribution engineers working under me.  I am responsible for their training and guiding them in their work.  I also give their job performance evaluation.

13.  Do you have staff selling items inside the office?

Yes.  It was allowed during break and lunch times and after office hours.

14.  Are there rules and regulations to obey?

Yes. The Company believes that the employees are the reflection of the Company.

15.  Name the departments and explain their job functions.

  • Personnel Dept. - Responsible for hiring employees, keeping employee information, etc.
  • Customer Dept. - Responsible for customer relations.
  • Billing Dept. - Responsible for providing electric bills to customers.
  • Engineering Dept. - Responsible for engineering design of company and customer electric connection requests.
  • Operating Dept. - Responsible for maintaining and operating the electric grid.
  • Materials Dept. - Responsible for procuring and providing materials and supplies to each department.
  • Construction Dept. - Responsible for construction of facilities.
  • Maintenance Dept. - Responsible for maintaining the facilities.
  • Collection Dept. - Responsible for collecting bill payments and fines for electric theft.
  • Law Dept. - Responsible for providing legal needs of the Company.
  • Safety Dept. - Responsible for providing rules and guidance on safety.
  • Testing Dept. - Responsible for testing equipment.
  • Commercial Dept. - Responsible for large customers.
  • Power Plants - Responsible for operating power plants.
  • Power Control - Responsible for day to day monitoring of the electrical grid.

16.  Which one have you experienced?

I was rotated in almost all of these departments.

17.  Which one did you have a difficult time with?

I enjoyed my stay in all the departments because I was able to learn all the aspects of the company and know the people.

Engineering Dept. and Power Control.

19.  Based on your work experience what can you bring along with you as a tool to use for your life experiences.

 Use common sense in all the things I do.

20.  If you had to choose and can return back from your life to make changes what is that you would like to do and why?

Be in the medical field inventing medical devices to make life easier and more comfortable for people.

21.  Who is someone you admire, and why?

President Biden.  He really cares about people and doing things for them.

22.  Tell me three pet peeves.

 Waste, waste, waste.

23.  What’s a typical day like for you?

 After things go back to normal, maybe going out more often.

24.  Do you have any skills or talents that most people don’t know about?

 I love to draw.

25.  If you could be anywhere other than here, right this minute, where would you be? (Don’t overthink it!)

Make sure that my wife I left behind knows what to do after I die to take care of herself.

Ballroom dancing with my wife and friends.

Ballroom dancing.
