Tired of the new rules, Carmina closed her Google Maps account — what pushed her over the edge?

It’s been months since Carmina last posted on her Google Maps. I started doing it just for fun, exploring new places to dine and travel, and sharing those spots with others. Back in 2017, I wasn’t even blogging yet. Over the years, I received numerous email updates about changes, but in September, the removal of followers on Google Maps felt particularly strange. There’s no point in complaining about it. I decided not to close my account, as it wasn’t an option, but I did delete all the photos I had contributed over the years. I have fond memories of seeing which photos were popular and had hoped to share them with you. It was surprising to see how many views my pictures had accumulated. While deleting them, I noticed that many restaurants and bakeries no longer exist, with some marked as unknown on the map. Most of my photos were from the pandemic period, a time when I could fully express myself and write about the food I enjoyed. Let's take a trip down memory lane with Carmina th...

Tips to Process License Renewal Overseas

Tips to Process License Renewal Overseas

What will you do if you're stranded in a foreign country and unable to return back to your address where your driver's license registered?

My mom's Driver's License has been expired due to our pandemic she is unable to renew it in person.

Every state has a different procedure with my mom she decided years ago to use her sister's address to make her life easier due to each state have situations to make a senior at first priority and the exams are not difficult for them to pass.

My mom visits her sister every time we have a chance to visit the United States.

My mom was very worried how she can get her driver's license renewed.

The process of being age 70 and up is quite different than those who are under age.

I had sent an email to the main office which is the website of the states where her driver's license was registered.

The person who was in charge of the renewal to get an extension had given me a form to print out for my mom to fill up.

The form 4317 process to give an extension on driver's license I was told by the person usually they don't allow extension only to military due it is pandemic they gave a reason to acknowledge my request.

Each email I had received the representative request a letter stating why my mom couldn't return back to the address on the driver's license.

I called my mom inform her she needs a letter to give proof why she is unable to travel.

I asked my friend for help and she had informed me to ask my mom to go to the Barangay Office to state the situation my mom is in due to my friend's advice. I went ahead and informed my mom about it.

My mom had asked someone to go to the Barangay Office in her area where she lives in the Philippines due she is prohibited to go outside giving a letter why she needed it.

The Barangay Office wrote a letter stating this on behalf of my mom why she cannot travel.

They had certify further that the situation state above is already Senior Citizen and not allowed to out due to this Covid-19 pandemic as per Ordinance of Inter-Agency Task Force and Covid-19 General Community Quarantine memorandum from the Office of the City Mayor.

I am lucky the representative who has been replying back and forth documents needed have been kind to help me out step by step what documents needed to process the extension.

I am thankful for those who have been helping us out. I wouldn't be able to do it alone.

There has been one stress out of the way removing my mom's worries.

You will need to send the payment to the address given from you is renewal form with a personal check, money order or credit card number.

Your driver's license will be renewal no needs to travel until you're allowed too.
