Sometimes in life we are curious of how someone in our life has accomplished in the career that they have decided upon. To get to know who that person sometimes takes a lot of work to interview due to our situation at home especially living in the Philippines we need to find our own way to reach this kind of task.
Carmina decided to write a survey for anyone who would like to participate and take the time to fill up.
In every life and career there is always a tool that brings them to where they are now.
CARMINA LIFESTYLE SURVEY
1. As a college student what was it like graduating and finding you're first job.
After graduating from my 4 year course of BS MedTech, I didn’t look for a job because I was already determined to push thru with Medicine, which was another 8-9 years including licensure examinations and specialty training of 3 years.
2. How did you decide upon getting a job?
After my residency/specialty training, the biggest challenge was finding a good location to start my clinic as a Dermatologist.
3. How did you find the job?
Since my parents had a primary hospital in Bulacan, I started holding clinic at our family-owned hospital, and eventually to nearby areas in Meycauayan then Cavite.
4. What are the questions the company asks during the interview?
This was not a problem, because as a self-employed doctor, as long as there is an open clinic space in a center or hospital, you can start already, although in some hospitals you need to buy stocks before you can hold clinic, this is actually one of the challenges I had when we moved to Cavite, since to be able to practice, I needed to invest in my hospitals to choice.
5. How does the company treat you on your first day?
The administrators and staff were very welcoming and excited to have a new doctor on board.
6. Does the treatment change after years working for the company?
Oh, no, not really but staff come and go, and there are always new doctors to meet and become friends with.
7. What are the hours or shifts working?
This is the reason why I decided to become a doctor, to have my own schedule, at my most convenient time.
8. How many employees are working per department?
Maybe 5-6 employees for each administrative office, for hospital wards, maybe around 5-8 nurses /floor. At my clinic, I only have 2 employees only.

No promotion for doctors, I guess promotion for us would be our Continues Medical Education to further advance our knowledge in our respective fields and being a Diplomat or a Fellow.

My employee’s responsibilities? Receiver of patients, filing of records, acceptance of payment in my behalf, assisting me in my procedures.

When I started my career as a doctor, some patients are hesitant because I was a newly graduate doctor, and very young.
12. What changes occur in your job?
As years pass, I already created some loyal patients who refer to me their friends and relatives; I became busier, so I had to leave other clinics which are too far from my home.
