Mom Violy wanted to eat crispy pata and pinakbet from Seafood Island Restaurant located in Cubao, Quezon City near the old Shopwise. We had arrived early being the first customers waiting for the restaurant to open. Few minutes later customers began entering the restaurant and we have already placed our order. Mom Violy ordered her crispy pata and pinakbet. Carmina ordered garlic butter shrimp since I don't eat crispy pata. Family member ordered calamari and shrimp fried rice. Carmina didn't feel like eating the food in the house cooked by Manang V which was beef niliga and grilled stuff bangus due being humid in the Philippines. Eating soup adds on the temperature you feel especially when the air-conditioner in your room cannot handle the heat from outside.
I decided upon eating salad. I felt a way to start eating healthy and find an alternative place to buy it gave me an opportunity to find Medley Modern Mediterranean.
I saw the Smoked Paprika Shrimp Salad that has the following ingredients romaine lettuce, Israeli salad, wheat, fried eggplant, feta cheese, shrimp, lemon and garlic dressing for PHP 379.00 ($7.58).
I wanted something else with my meal just in case I didn't feel like eating the food at the house to make it worthwhile in one transaction.
I saw Levantine Chicken Laffa that has chicken thigh, mixed greens, hummus, Israeli salad, fried eggplant and mamba sauce for PHP 299.00 ($5.98).
It gave me an opportunity to try Smoked Paprika Shrimp Salad and Levantine Chicken Laffa at Medley Modern Mediterranean.
The food is quite different from what I normally order but it is a good thing because I learned a new dish that I had actually enjoyed.
