Lunch at Cafe 1228 Buffet Restaurant inside New World Makati Hotel

Past due belated birthday for Tita Edna and Carmina treated by Tito Boni. Among our friendship there is someone taking turns treating us for a meal of their choice. Tita Edna called me up letting me know we'll be having lunch on August 14, 2024. Finding out  New World Makati Hotel  was having an anniversary the food inside  Cafe 1228  had a promotion. Tito Boni said sure let's see each other it will be my treat for you. It is Carmina's first time to dine in eat some international food at Cafe 1228. Tita Edna had made a reservation upon entering New World Makati Hotel you will pass through security. Entering the lobby going to the left-hand side is the Cafe 1228 informing the person how many you are giving the name who it is the reservation under. The person will lead you to the table and you can begin starting off getting your food. The time frame to get your meal is at two o'clock in the afternoon. Mom Violy wanted some beef. Tilapia with Pechay Recipe


Today Carmina went to the kitchen to see Manang V and see what is cooking for our lunch. Manang V had informed Carmina for the employee she has cooked something different. 

Carmina went to get her phone to take a picture of Manang V's new dish that she decided to add soup to our fresh tilapia with Pechay and other ingredients.

Carmina was busy talking to Manang V to get the recipe she also was able to take some photos for you to see.

Tip:

Manang V said she puts ginger to remove the fishy smell from the tilapia it kind of remind me of Tinola how she had cooked it. Only difference there is tomato floating in the soup and the vegetable is different.

Tilapia with Petchey Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 6 - Pieces Fresh Tilapia (clean and sliced in the middle)
  • 1 - Small piece fresh ginger (peel and slice matchbox size)
  • 4 Tbsp. - Patis (fish sauce)
  • 1 - Bundle Pechay
  • 1 Whole Garlic (chopped)
  • 1 - Onion (chopped)
  • Small amount cooking oil
  • Water
  • Medium Pot
Step 1:
  • Add small amount cooking oil in hot pot add onions, garlic, ginger, tomato and patis mix together
  • Add sliced Tilapia
  • Add water 
  • Cook until Tilapia has been steamed
  • Remove Tilapia and transfer to a pot and set aside.

  • Soup base add the Pechay
  • Let it boil


  • In a individual serving bowl add soup base and vegetables enough for one person and add one piece of tilapia


It is ready to be served the Tilapia with Pechay while it is hot.
