Mom Violy Craving for Filipino Dishes from Seafood Island Restaurant

Mom Violy wanted to eat crispy pata and pinakbet from Seafood Island Restaurant located in Cubao, Quezon City near the old Shopwise. We had arrived early being the first customers waiting for the restaurant to open. Few minutes later customers began entering the restaurant and we have already placed our order. Mom Violy ordered her crispy pata and pinakbet. Carmina ordered garlic butter shrimp since I don't eat crispy pata. Family member ordered calamari and shrimp fried rice. Everyone had a taste of our meals with leftovers to bring home. Watch my video  Running Errands in the Philippines . NOT SPONSORED. Food Becomes Your Comfort Food When Lonely

Carmina was able to interview Mom Violy how it is like living alone during our pandemic.

Mom Violy said it is lonely living alone and not able to go out because of the age.

Mom Violy claims when you hear most of your closest friends went toward dying due to health reasons not because of corona virus. You begin to go toward depression thinking all your friends have left you behind. You're the only one still living sometimes you think about death even if you don't want too.

Mom Violy doesn't want to have Carmina live with her. She prefers to have her own privacy and not use too having someone at her side.

Mom Violy is independent, but when she needs help she has people around her for example Sonny who drove us to our adventure is actually a security guard that works at the condominium of where Mom Violy lives.

Sonny works for the senior citizen part time to essential things needed from residents who live there by doing their errands or drive them around.

If Carmina is not able to purchase all her stuff online Sonny does it for her.

Mom Violy has contact with residences in the same area who sells fruits, bread and other food to call them when she wants to replenish her goods.

Night time comes when loneliness comes what drives someone is to watch movies and their partner in crime becomes food.

Mom Violy claimed she use to eat only three times a day when there was no pandemic. The problem when you end up staying home for a long period of time you end up eating five meals in a day.

Carmina was surprised and hey that is too much.

Carmina had no clue how much food her mom was consuming in a day basis. Every time Mom Violy had requested for sweets. Carmina kept telling her she might become diabetic. Mom Violy was in denial saying I only eat one Popsicle in one day.

Remember that Ube pinipig ice cream Mom Violy asked her daughter to look for her. Mom Violy told Carmina she only eat once a day, but found out two months later she eats it twice a day.

Mom Violy also ask Carmina to purchased baked goods from S& R the double chocolate muffin, sliced cakes from Red Ribbon or Goldilocks.

Even though Carmina was telling Mom Violy to control what she eats yet she wasn't accepting it she was doing something wrong.

Carmina realized that Mom Violy is not the only one stress eating. Carmina was able to talk to her other friends who are doing the same because they too live alone.

Food seems to comfort the people who live alone who are going through depression and being lonely.

They won't admit they are lonely not until they need help to pull them toward going on a diet.

Mom Violy only woke up and realize she was doing something wrong when recently she decided to have a blood test to see what medical changes has occurred.

Mom Violy found out she needed to go on a diet and she has gained weight by trying on her clothing at home.

Pattern of our life we realize a wakeup call this is not me before and I don't want to die. I want to live longer to appreciate the things I want out of my life.

Mom Violy is going back to her regular schedule by eating three times a day and to exercise rather than comfort her in food.
