When Mom Violy spotted Crisostomo’s handwritten menu, something in her chest lit up: home-style lumpia, sinigang steaming in clay pots—could this be the comfort food she’d been missing?

Carmina informed Mom Violy that she would visit her home on Saturday, November 8, 2025. She asked if Mom Violy wanted to go out for lunch and mentioned needing to do some grocery shopping due to an upcoming big storm. Mom Violy suggested trying Crisostomo, a Filipino restaurant inside Robinsons Magnolia. Carmina forwarded the menu for her to choose what she wanted to eat, while Carmina already knew her order. I chose pork barbeque served in a set of three pieces with a vinegar dipping sauce. I skipped rice and opted for lumpiang hubad, fresh lumpia without a wrapper, topped with peanut sauce.  Mom Violy initially craved the classic Pinoy paella, but when it wasn’t available, she decided on sinigang na baboy with an extra serving of rice. A family member chose sisig with garlic rice. Carmina enjoyed her meal with Mom Violy and particularly liked the  lumpiang hubad , though she kept wondering why it had no wrapper. US Variety Muffin

Carmina was able to purchase US variety muffin in S&R which is like a Costco in the United States that sells products that are imported in other countries in wholesale price. Carmina's mom is missing baked goods from California her daughter is still able to find it and purchase it for her having a US variety muffin that is in one plastic container. Carmina's mom favorite is always the chocolate ones and blueberry muffin. This time around Carmina gets to keep the ones her mom doesn't want to eat from the US variety muffin container. Giving her a chance to eat her muffin during our breakfast or a snack on the go when you feel like taking a small snack feeling hungry before you have your lunch or dinner d on't worry we cannot consume one muffin by ourselves it is too big it will take us one muffin for two servings in our meal. Carmina and her mom is not big eater our US variety muffin will last quite a long time before it will expire on May 2, 2021.  Or what Carmina...

New Hostess Twinkies, Ding Dong and Honey Bun Iced Latte

Carmina had discovered Hostess Twinkies, Ding Dong and Honey Bun Iced Latte version when she was placing her order through Metro Mart application in S&R Philippines. After checking what were the new items that became available in S&R I was thinking is there really such a drink and I couldn't stop putting my eye on them. Carmina grew up eating Hostess Twinkies, Ding Dong and Honey Bun when she was young living in California. There use to be a branch in the Bay Area where there was a discounted store near our dentist use to be when she was in high school. My mom would bring my sister and I there to buy our bread and baked goods for our breakfast and snacks to bring to school. Too bad the baked goods are too expensive to purchase in the Philippines sold elsewhere although the cool part I can drink the latte version. Carmina was telling her friends in California if they ever heard of Hostess Twinkies, Ding Dong and Honey Bun the Iced Latte. Her friends in California had no clue...
