Mom Violy Craving for Filipino Dishes from Seafood Island Restaurant

Mom Violy wanted to eat crispy pata and pinakbet from Seafood Island Restaurant located in Cubao, Quezon City near the old Shopwise. We had arrived early being the first customers waiting for the restaurant to open. Few minutes later customers began entering the restaurant and we have already placed our order. Mom Violy ordered her crispy pata and pinakbet. Carmina ordered garlic butter shrimp since I don't eat crispy pata. Family member ordered calamari and shrimp fried rice. Everyone had a taste of our meals with leftovers to bring home. Watch my video  Running Errands in the Philippines . NOT SPONSORED. Do you remember your first driver's license?

Carmina was looking at her old driver's license that she had in the past. You get to look back the years and recall every moment when you first drove.

Carmina started driving when she was in senior year in California where she grew up. I can remember it was required in high school to get a driving permit.

My first car was a hand me down from my Uncle who was Mom Violy's sibling that loan us a car to use.

No one wants their children to start driving a brand new car.

During that time the steering wheel was hard to move around being stiff although it didn't stop Carmina not to learn how to drive.

Carmina was eighteen years old when she started driving.

Having a driver's license in senior year is a time you have a chance being independent. Considering your parents always being strict with you yet you had to obey the ground rules were going out after school activities in high school was still not allowed.

Carmina's parents asked her to drive to their errands by shopping at the grocery store.

After graduating from high school Carmina father gave her a second hand car to drive and make it consider her own car not to share with her younger sister.

Carmina cannot wait to drive again in California where she will be getting her new California license that was renewed online when it was expired one year ago.

The great part even if you live in the Philippines your residence is still in the United States. You can still keep your first license and no need to keep taking a driver's classes being a good driver without any driving violations.

In the Philippines getting a driver's license is a different story where who knows Carmina will have a story for you to read in the future.
