When the longing for authentic Pinoy dishes strikes in the U.S., Isla Grand stands ready to transport your taste buds back to the Philippines.

Carmina is traveling to the United States to spend time with her family. My dad planned a family gathering for Mother's Day at their favorite Pinoy restaurant . Since reservations aren’t possible, we arrived an hour early to ensure we could get a table for twelve before everyone else showed up. As my dad approached Isla Grand , the branch we visited in Pleasant Hills, California , the host at the door said they could prepare a table for twelve at five o'clock. Later, the server called my dad's name and guided us to our table. The place was bustling with people enjoying meals and celebrating Mother's Day. On our first visit to Isla Grand, I was captivated by the décor, noticing many native items that gave the place a fancy yet authentic Filipino feel. They usually have a live band, but unfortunately, there was no entertainment the night we went. My family had spoken highly of Isla Grand and encouraged us to try the Filipino dishes we’ve been missing from back home. Lech...

Mom Violy and Carmina's Experience in Antigen Test A Day of Our Flight

Carmina has planned ahead to schedule her RT-PCR before we'll be travelling to the United States. Mom Violy has told Carmina it is not until the month of May.

Carmina is trying to prevent herself in getting stress when the time comes.

Carmina gave a list of diagnostics center that is required from PAL Testing Partners in Metro Manila for Mom Violy to choose.

Carmina suggested to let Mom Violy call up New World Diagnostics in which she wanted that was close by.

Carmina had checked NWDI - New World Diagnostics and it said you need to make an appointment. Carmina had registered Mom Violy and herself that is one day before our travel flight.

Sometimes even if the requirements may change might as well have an appointment for your upcoming flight.

We don't want to run out getting ourselves stress.

Month of April travel requirements have changed you have a choice to get a PT-PCR or Antigen Test from your own expenses.

From all our research Mom Violy and Carmina found out from our close friends who recently arrived in the Philippines and flew from the United States was told you don't need to wait 24/48 hours. You can do it the morning before you'll departure the Philippines yet there is a catch make sure and check what time is your flight.

It is not good when your PT-PCR/Antigen Test is ahead by the time or delay because you won't be approved once you have arrived in your destination.

Mom Violy also had inquired from her travel agent to check if it was correct.

It can be confusing to make sure what someone else has informed is correct because if you do everything wrong there will be no way you'll be able to fly and leave Manila.

May 4, 2022 is when Mom Violy and Carmina had their Antigen Test we waited thirty minutes to get our results praying it will be negative so we can fly.

Mom Violy and Carmina had some assistance how to do our Antigen Test and to fill up our forms you will need to bring a valid identification number.

If your a senior you get a discount.

The cost to get an Antigen Test is PHP 660.00 ($12.69).

Here is a short video clip while waiting to get our Antigen Test inside New World Diagnostics.

A way to learn is to go based on you're own experience one reason why Carmina wanted to write an article about it.

Upon getting our swab test we needed to make sure it went beyond the time frame when we'll be boarding and arriving at San Francisco, California.

It it will be your first time it can hold stress among yourself yet we found out reaching San Francisco there is no time frame.

I guess being back to new normal they left it out where doing swab test is not necessary when leaving certain are or countries.

Mom Violy asked Carmina having swab test will it hurt. Carmina responded no they just pass a swab through both of your nostril.

Well during that time Carmina had swab test the person was right in front of you. Not at a booth you need to seat down have a hole just someone enter their hand to insert a swab through both of your nostril.

Yes, it is painful for the right nostril. They'll ask you to breath in before placing the swab in your left nostril.

We're told it takes two hours to get your results choices are to come back in two hours or have it sent through your email.

Carmina felt email was the easier by doing other last-minute stuff.

Mom Violy and Carmina's results are negative.
