Carmina is like everyone else we have caps on our mouth, and no one knows us only our dentist who works on it.
Fifteen years ago, when I had migrated to the Philippines my caps were already there. Four years ago, before the pandemic started, I've had plans to change it yet never came to the point actually getting it done.
Carmina decided to really set foot and enter inside Aking Dentista and made an appointment online.
Carmina notices one cap was already loosed it is in the front. We worried that people would tease us why we have no tooth in the front. Having worn a face mask no one will know not unless you really eat in front of them.
Carmina has had a lot of family and friends during the pandemic they were also toothless and asked us to take a group picture with our mask on.
Carmina realized it was just a normal feeling everyone goes through it.
Dr. Ligon explained to me what type of cap I had from the States. It was the cap that had metal inside reason why from the tip of my roots it has turned a tarnish color where the metal begins to show.
All along Carmina thought her gums we're being affected from old age caps in our mouth.
There are different types of caps all depends on the price you're willing to pay.
Carmina had asked to put a post to hold my cap from my mouth the same way my dentist did it in the United States.
Dr. Emon had informed me the caps are under warranty in case something had happen it would be covered.
Did you know you can get caps that are the exact color of your teeth in your mouth? There is a chart they determine which level or color your teeth are because everyone's teeth are different color.
Carmina did her whitening teeth process first before she can change her caps.
The process Dr. Ligon will remove the old cap like a hamper. Don't worry it is not the kind they use when you work with nails. 😂🤣
Dr. Ligon will place cotton on the side of your mouth ask you to open wide. Good luck to him because I was told my mouth is the size of a kid's mouth. Sometimes I see Dr. Ligon standing up on my side trying to remove my cap slowly.
Of course, Dr. Ligon will check if I am alright not feeling any pain in my mouth during the process. You will have a hose in the side of your mouth sucking up the salvia or water from your mouth.
Once the cap is fully removed from your mouth, you'll be asked to gargle to remove excess from your mouth and spit it out to the sink.
Dr. Ligon will next prepare a clay mold in a tray and place in your mouth sometimes you want to gag of the pressure making sure it will harden right away. I was told to breath from my nose not from my mouth making sure my tongue doesn't go anywhere.
The clay has hardened it will be sent to the laboratory for your new cap.
The assistant will call you up letting you know when ready to come in to put your new cap on.
It is the feeling putting on new shoes just for the cap they want to make sure it will fit to the size of your mouth, and it doesn't hit next to the other tooth next to it.
Dr. Ligon asked me to bite by placing our mouth together to make sure we don't have any problems when we begin to eat.
Starting 2023 a better year completed my task for myself.
