When the longing for authentic Pinoy dishes strikes in the U.S., Isla Grand stands ready to transport your taste buds back to the Philippines.

Carmina is traveling to the United States to spend time with her family. My dad planned a family gathering for Mother's Day at their favorite Pinoy restaurant . Since reservations aren’t possible, we arrived an hour early to ensure we could get a table for twelve before everyone else showed up. As my dad approached Isla Grand , the branch we visited in Pleasant Hills, California , the host at the door said they could prepare a table for twelve at five o'clock. Later, the server called my dad's name and guided us to our table. The place was bustling with people enjoying meals and celebrating Mother's Day. On our first visit to Isla Grand, I was captivated by the décor, noticing many native items that gave the place a fancy yet authentic Filipino feel. They usually have a live band, but unfortunately, there was no entertainment the night we went. My family had spoken highly of Isla Grand and encouraged us to try the Filipino dishes we’ve been missing from back home. Lech...

Carmina's Review on Sundays Cafe and Restaurant in Marikina City

Carmina is not familiar with Marikina City. If you have friends who are into eating at restaurants in that area. Best for them to give you a place that they can recommend to you.

Carmina called; up Sundays Cafe and Restaurant found out they don't accept reservation only walk in. I went at dinner time around 6 o'clock on a Saturday and there wasn't a long wait. There was a table near the entrance of the restaurant.

Although it was extremely cold due to the air conditioner being near me.

The server had handed two menus one was for Filipino dishes and the second was American, Italian, Filipino Breakfast and so many more.

The prices are reasonable to get two different dishes and share among the people you're with that day.

I have been craving for beef tapa. I ended ordering a ALL Day Breakfast off Sunday's Cafe Restaurant. It had included everything how we normally eat our beef tapa with garlic rice, sunny side up egg, sliced tomatoes, achara and vinegar dipping sauce.

The beef tapa is very soft and easy to slice smaller with a fork and knife. I had finished my food except the serving of the garlic was too much.

I thought I can finish the Rock Shrimp in Rock Sauce for 210.00 pesos ($3.82). My main meal came right after rather eating it I ate my Beef Tapa first.

Carmina had it packed up for takeout. I also ordered their slice Strawberry Shortcake for takeout 175.00 pesos ($3.18).

The person with me had ordered Bacon Carbonara with Pouched Egg for 245.00 pesos ($4.45).

We had ordered their popular dish Sundays Cereal Fried Chicken and Waffles for our next meal for the day. It was placed inside a brown box sealed with tape for 385.00 pesos ($7.00).

Overall, the food you're paying is worth the price surely, I can recommend everyone to try Sunday's Cafe Restaurant.

There is free parking in front of Sundays Cafe Restaurant.
