Mom Violy Craving for Filipino Dishes from Seafood Island Restaurant

Mom Violy wanted to eat crispy pata and pinakbet from Seafood Island Restaurant located in Cubao, Quezon City near the old Shopwise. We had arrived early being the first customers waiting for the restaurant to open. Few minutes later customers began entering the restaurant and we have already placed our order. Mom Violy ordered her crispy pata and pinakbet. Carmina ordered garlic butter shrimp since I don't eat crispy pata. Family member ordered calamari and shrimp fried rice. Everyone had a taste of our meals with leftovers to bring home. Watch my video  Running Errands in the Philippines . NOT SPONSORED. Chicken Soft Taco Recipe

Carmina wanted to try something new with using boneless chicken thighs instead of ground meat.

Chicken Soft Taco Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 12 pieces - Boneless Chicken Thigh (sliced into strips)
  • 1 - Taco Seasoning (any brand)
  • Cooking Oil
  • Tortilla (any brand)
  • Romaine lettuce (sliced thinly)
  • Salsa
  • Cheese (any brand and grated)

Preparing:

I did the reverse by marinating the boneless chicken thighs by slicing them first into strips adding the hot water to half cup along with taco seasoning.

I find it easier to use hot water rather cold to let the seasoning dilute faster.

I placed the boneless chicken thighs with the mixture of taco seasoning inside the refrigerator for one hour.

Let it soak before pan frying the boneless chicken thigh.

Cooking:

  • Start heating cooking oil on the frying pan until hot add some chicken strips making sure there is enough space.
  • Cook on both sides place on a serving plate.

Assemble:

It is easier to place each ingredient in a separate container so whomever will eat the soft taco can make their own.

Prevent getting your chicken soft taco sogging.
